Everyone who meets Zoe falls in love

Zoe’s birth was traumatic. Struggling to breathe, she was immediately rushed to the newborn intensive care unit. A few weeks later, Zoe’s parents were told that she had a 96% chance of having cerebral palsy.

Now aged three, Ashley’s precious little girl is full of life. Zoe is full of joy, she loves to play on the swings and be independent in her walker. However, it’s her communication skills that have really amazed her family.

Even in the first few months of life, early intervention therapy can have a profound and lasting impact on a child with cerebral palsy, empowering kids like Zoe with lifelong skills to communicate independently with the people she loves most.

“I had barely dared to hope that she would be able to say Mum… and now it’s her favourite word. She says it all the time, and I don’t care how many times she says it. It feels like a little miracle every time I hear it.”

– Ashley, Zoe’s Mum.

Early intervention speech therapy is critical

Without early speech therapy intervention, many children with cerebral palsy may struggle to learn to speak and communicate with those around them. The older they get, the harder it becomes for their brain to form new connections and pick up new skills.

Zoe started speech therapy as a baby and has made incredible progress. The most special moment was when she said ‘Mum’ for the first time. It has quickly become her favourite word.

“Starting early made a huge difference for Zoe. It took ages to get that first word but now there’s no stopping her.” – Meredith, Zoe’s speech therapist.

With your help today, babies like Zoe can experience the joy of communicating with their loved ones.

“Knowing Zoe can communicate with us, and with others, is such a relief. It’s the key to her future.”

Early intervention speech therapy has the power to open doors for children like Zoe to realise their full potential, transforming their future and the lives of their families.

You can change the world for babies like Zoe.
