You have the power to transform Jetson's future
No baby's future should be left to chance.
Donate & help babies like Jetson realise their full potential.
Your generous donation will help fund the next stage of a critical research study that is changing outcomes for babies like Jetson at a critical time in their development. With your support, they will achieve things their parents thought would never be possible.
Meet Jetson
Jetson’s birth was supposed to be a joyful experience for his first-time parents, Trish and Jet. There was nothing to suggest that anything might be wrong. Then at 26 weeks, Trish’s waters broke, and everything changed.
After 6 weeks fearing for their baby’s life, Jetson was born. His parents were told that things didn’t look good for their little boy and tests quickly confirmed he had suffered significant damage to the right side of his brain.
Trish and Jet worried about what the future would look like for their son. They didn’t know if he would ever walk, communicate or eat independently. That’s when they were connected with Cerebral Palsy Alliance, and Jetson was invited to take part in a ground-breaking research study, made possible entirely by generous supporters.
What happens to a child with CP in their first months of life can shape their entire future.
You can ensure they have access to the individualised, evidence-based treatments they need to thrive.
Research studies can transform babies’ futures
The Early Natural History of CP research study analyses the development of CP in the first two years of a child’s life, when neuroplasticity – the brain’s ability to repair itself and create new pathways – is at its peak. With this understanding, researchers can develop the best individualised therapies and intervention methods for babies like Jetson.
Now, almost 3 years old, little Jetson is a ball of energy – there’s nothing he loves more than bopping along to music and meeting new people. Recently, he learned how to sit up by himself and is showing great determination to walk independently – things his parents worried would never be possible.
The results from the first stage of this research study are already changing the lives of babies like Jetson. Just imagine what they could achieve if the next stage gets the funding it needs to go forward. You can make that possible.
